dankrokos:

Hello friends. Check out the updated covers for the paperback of False Memory, and the hardcover of False Sight. Not too different than they were before, but I dig how they’re a little sleeker, a little simpler. Especially the smoky red colors on False Sight.

Much thanks to the fantastic team at Disney Hyperion!

New covers for FALSE MEMORY and FALSE SIGHT!

UNF. That is some sweet cover art. It’s for Something Wicked Volume 2, and there’s an Indiegogo pre-order campaign happening now with some amazing backing deals.
Joe and Vianne at Something Wicked are pretty damn awesome, and have been supporting the (extremely tiny) South African horror and SF scene forever, so show them some love, yo.
My story Jack of Spades, Reversed is in there somewhere along with work by Lauren Beukes, Richard Kunzmann, Sam Wilson, and Abi Godsell.

 FALSE MEMORY
Author: Dan KrokosReview Issue Date: January 1, 2013ISBN: 978-1-4231-4976-7

This book reads like Jason Bourne meets the Terminator. The Roses are clones, experimental super-soldiers whose psychic energy causes destruction to any normal human who is exposed to it. When Miranda wakes up with amnesia, her fear sets off her energy and causes harm to those around her. With help from the other Roses and the “memory shots” that all Roses must take to prevent amnesia, Miranda returns home and begins to remember bits of her past. As Miranda’s memory returns, she realizes she has many questions about her home, her unusual power, and whether her memories are real. With the help of gadgetry, the Roses set off a rebellion that escalates into a series of fast-paced fights. By the end of the book Miranda begins to develop beyond a predictable action hero. The action and gadgets make this book a good choice for reluctant readers. Readers who liked Patterson’s Maximum Ride (Little, Brown) and Lore’s Lorien Legacies (HarperCollins) series should like this first in a new series as well. Elizabeth Andersen, Librarian, Westbrook (Maine) High School
