Alexandra Penfold at Simon & Schuster’s Paula Wiseman Books imprint has acquired a debut picture book called Henny by author-illustrator Elizabeth Rose Stanton, in a preempt. It tells the tale of a young chick who is born just a little different from everyone else in the barn, and learns how to use her special gift to come into her own. Publication is set for spring 2014; Joanna Volpe of New Leaf Literary & Media did the deal.
