Jessica Garrison at Dial Books for Young Readers has acquired Between the Spark and the Burn by April Tucholke, as well as an untitled novel. In this sequel to Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (which is due out August 2013), 17-year-old Violet and her friends travel across the country in the dead of winter to save the mysterious liar River West and stop his sociopathic brother before the carnage grows too great. Publication is scheduled for summer 2014. Joanna Volpe at New Leaf Literary & Media did the deal for world English rights.
